Werecommend a workpiece thickness between 1mm and 40mm For ultrathinmaterials 03mm to 1mm it is necessary to reduce the diameter of thevacuum orifices on the replaceable sacrificial plate

2 What arethe size requirements for workpieces used with SOVAC vacuum tables 

Generally a minimumindividual workpiece size of 100mm x 100mm is recommended For smallercomponents eg 50mm x 50mm we suggest using a nestingtiling strategy Alternatively auxiliary clamping methods such as adhesive wax or singlesided adhesive tape can be used Please contact themanufacturer for specific operational techniques

3 What arethe requirements for workpiece flatness and surface finish

To ensure areliable vacuum seal workpieces should typically have a surface roughness Rawithin 32m and a flatness tolerance within 02mm

4  Yes The PRISeries is compatible with both waterbased and oilbased coolants Howeverfor the PRO and PRE Series we strictly recommend waterbasedcoolants oilbased cutting fluids are not advised

6 Howshould the SOVAC vacuum table be cleaned

 There are three recommended cleaning modes

       Applicable only for wetmachining With the vacuum valve partially open pour clean water over thesurface while the vacuum is active The water will be sucked through theinternal structure to flush out debris Note This requires an AutomaticLiquid Separator in your vacuum line

       Blow compressed air in reverse through the vacuum port to clear internalpassages

       Use a white airshroud to blow compressed air directly into the vacuum orificesfrom above

       For wet machiningperform all three modes daily For dry machining perform Modes 2 and 3after every workpiece cycle
