Competitive Advantages and Applications of the PRE-3040 Vacuum table

PRE-3040 is a high-precision vacuum table with a maximum clamping area of 300mm*400mm. It consists of 540 vacuum holes, each 10 mm in diameter. Primarily designed for the rapid clamping of high-precision non-ferrous metal sheets in the aerospace and medical industries, it provides clamping accuracy down to the 10-micron level, ensuring uniform clamping force on the workpiece. The diameter of the vacuum holes in the aluminum replacement plate can be adjusted to accommodate ultra-thin workpieces, such as non-ferrous metal sheets with a thickness of 0.3mm to 1mm. The aluminum replacement plate allows for multiple surface resurfacing with a flat-end mill to achieve a highly flat clamping surface again. Cutting fluid cooling is also possible. A single rotary switch makes operation simple and quick. Let this top-of-the-line vacuum table from China bring greater convenience to your precision machining operations. Provide localized after-sales service in India.

FAQ's of PRE-3040 Vacuum table:

Q: What is the recommended workpiece thickness for SOVAC vacuum tables?

A: We recommend a workpiece thickness between 1mm and 40mm. For ultra-thin materials (0.3mm to 1mm), it is necessary to reduce the diameter of the vacuum orifices on the replaceable sacrificial plate.

Q: What are the size requirements for workpieces used with SOVAC vacuum tables?

A: Generally, a minimum individual workpiece size of 100mm x 100mm is recommended. For smaller components (e.g., 50mm x 50mm), we suggest using a "nesting" (tiling) strategy. Alternatively, auxiliary clamping methods such as adhesive wax or single-sided adhesive tape can be used. Please contact the manufacturer for specific operational techniques.

Q: What are the requirements for workpiece flatness and surface finish?

A: To ensure a reliable vacuum seal, workpieces should typically have a surface roughness (Ra) within 3.2m and a flatness tolerance within 0.2mm.

Q: Can cutting fluids be used with SOVAC vacuum tables?

A: Yes. The PRI Series is compatible with both water-based and oil-based coolants. However, for the PRO and PRE Series, we strictly recommend water-based coolants; oil-based cutting fluids are not advised.

Q: What is the clamping accuracy (parallelism) of SOVAC vacuum tables?

A: SOVAC vacuum tables feature three distinct clamping interfaces:

  •  Primary Interface (Blue Soft Silicone): Clamping accuracy of 0.04mm 0.07mm.

  • Secondary Interface (Black Polyurethane): Clamping accuracy of 0.02mm.

  • Tertiary Interface (Aluminum Sacrificial Plate): When using a custom aluminum plate (manufactured by the user based on our drawings), the clamping accuracy reaches 0.01mm.

Q: How should the SOVAC vacuum table be cleaned?

A: There are three recommended cleaning modes:
  • Mode 1 (Water Rinse): Applicable only for wet machining. With the vacuum valve partially open, pour clean water over the surface while the vacuum is active. The water will be sucked through the internal structure to flush out debris. Note: This requires an Automatic Liquid Separator in your vacuum line.

  •  Mode 2 (Reverse Air Purge): Blow compressed air in reverse through the vacuum port to clear internal passages.

  • Mode 3 (Top-down Air Blast): Use a white air-shroud to blow compressed air directly into the vacuum orifices from above.

  • Maintenance Schedule: For wet machining, perform all three modes daily. For dry machining, perform Modes 2 and 3 after every workpiece cycle.

Q: Can SOVAC vacuum tables be used on a CNC Router for wood boards?

A: We do not recommend this. SOVAC systems are high-precision, high-cost clamping tools engineered for CNC Machining Centers or high-speed engraving machines requiring tolerances within 0.02mm. They are primarily designed for non-ferrous metal plates and engineering plastics (like PEEK or Delrin), rather than wood.

Q: Is a vacuum pump mandatory, or can a Venturi vacuum generator be used?

A: For heavy-duty cutting and maximum hold-down force, we recommend a High-Vacuum Oil-Lubricated Rotary Vane Pump (e.g., Busch VM 100 or Leybold LVO 100 equivalent). If using small tools (under 10mm), a vacuum generator may be used, provided the user has an air compressor with a power rating exceeding 5kW.
